if I owned a company, I would have a standing offer of $200 to anyone who bought fuel from one of my drivers. Don't even need a name...just a location and a time. Would take no time at all to verify, and I would send them an express code. That would be the driver I would catch on the road and put him out on the side of the road. "Find a way home, dirtbag."

I don't understand why are people buying fuel. If someone came up to me asking me to buy fuel, I would tell them in there face that they are wrong. I would report it to there company. I hate thieves with a passion!

I would call him in office after he finish his shift when u go in office have yo secretary call the police just talk about some bogus stuff then have yo secretary beep u when police get there and then give that guy a escort with a detour home what he did is a felony in my state anything over 500 is a felony. I used to work in a warehouse i have seen people get a escort by just stealing a pack of gum. This g uy stole over 3000 he should be under the jail . Let the blue lights get him and watch him try and explain then laugh at him

You should call the Police. I had a guy stealing fuel from an employer. A well placed video camera caught him. He admitted to stealing over $20,000.00 worth of fuel over ten years. If you fire him first it is harder to catch him.

change your access codes and daily limits make sure they have a mileage to get approval . if u make it very hard to hide theft it will happen less often in future , also make it mandatory to write fuel and mileage at each fill partial or not on trip envelopes

Boot this driver right out of the truck immediately he is a thief. He is a liability pure and simple. Park the truck until you get somebody else.
A truck does not drop in fuel mileage that quick unless something radically mechanical goes wrong. You are losing lots of money. Put a tracker in
your trucks its worth it. I have linxup in my trucks. Spend the extra 22 bucks a month to know what the heck your drivers are doing. It's worth it.
Been there done that. Very painful I know on your part to do but, this driver will run you in the poor house. That's my opinion and I stick to it.
My trucks, my rules, my world. Go ahead and try and sue me. I haven't had one yet come back at me. What's he gonna do? Nothing!

When you first wrote about this situation, my reaction was like, "fire him...kill him..." And I can see most of all have some sort of ANGER against a thief IF this person is really what it seems. BUT, folks he is or was working JUST for three weeks... I agree with many of you that says at this short time that this guys is driving for you, he would dare to do that. If he does, he was doing that before with the previous employer.

NOW this is a case to have some proof in the hand in order to take some sort of action against this worker. FACTS, you need a lot of this, I mean facts. It don't matter what we say or what you think! Where are the FACTS that will prove this accusation against this man? - As I think about this, I can imagine, if this is not true, and the poor Man is just another hard worker trying to survive and take care of his Family and now something is going on that he is a victim of it, maybe truck problem, or another driver doing it in this man's truck!!!?

So, investigate more! Take the truck to the mechanic and find out whatever is wrong or not with it, and figure out how to put this man on the spot, if he really did it. If not, you may have yourself a very nice driver, who knows! If the FACTS speaks that he is guilty then do whatever it is necessary.

Actually I thought a lot about this today!!! I hope you got a solution...

    Not really proof.

Weather, driving, weight, wind and idle will affect this.

Accuse and take his check and no real proof, he may own your business.
