If the driver agreed to work at whatever wage he is getting paid, no excuses. Percentage of gross however is just that. If he was told no detention loaded miles only, no tarp pay etc and company is still collecting it well he needs be a better negotiator. Don't get me wrong I believe in paying my hands all I can stand but I expect all they can give. That aside a deal is a deal don't like the one you made move on don't steal. If the employer isn't holding his end up quit right then don't steal. The that sorry so and so owes me attitude is whats wrong with the whole business today.

Your statement shows your true character. There is NEVER an excuse to steal. Period.

Well i personally think that driver thought any reason is a good reason to steal should have been strung up by his thumbs and thrashed until theowner of the business got all of his money back. Im on med leave living on shut of notices but u don't see me stealing a loaf of bread from walmart. Yea i may be robbing Peter to pay Paul but its legal. I may not have everything i want but its about gettin by. The driver that was stealing fuel was just greedy. Just cared for himself and didn't think about what will happen after he got caught to the remaining employees now they have to deal with the mistrust of the owner of business even though they are innocent

All you people are quick to pass judgement. No one knows if he was or wasn't stealing. You don't know how carguy's truck is maintained. For all we know it could be junk and not on top of pm services. I had to fill twice on the load I just delivered 900 total miles. Got in to shop to find I had a fuel leak that sprayed heavy with rpm up. Just goes to show how some of the people here think of other people.

For what it's worth I would have done more than push carguy if he wrongfully accused me of theft.

I didn't say that I condone it. Im just saying that maybe the employer might not be lily-white. All we are hearing is one part of the story.

I'm not saying he did or didn't. I suggested swap drivers it will tell the tale. But there was comments insinuating if your not paid enough its ok. That I can't abide. Yes I would get pretty hot if wrongly accused, you bet your butt. Most especially if I said don't touch the truck pick your driver and make my turn with it and compare the numbers. If they are close you pay the week off. When an innocent man is accused he can well prove it. I figure carguy had his proof but may have other drivers on the forum and can't say. Maybe for legal reasons I'm not a lawyer. All I know is there isn't an excuse to do it. And if you label a man a thief you better have proof.
