This is the United States. English is our language. Want to live/work here? Learn it. Why should we, as a country, have to make all of the concessions for those coming from foreign lands? Reverse the roles. Go to Russia and tell them they have to learn English to accommodate you. See what happens.

Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

Same is true with Quebec.

That's the problem, truck lines want cheap labor so they make you think you are getting a job that will allow you to buy a big home and two cars and just have all grades of money when in fact you will work from 70 to 90 hours a week and maybe you'll get 35K then again it may be low 20's. Truck driving is the only job where they don't pay overtime and that's just fine with these mega lines. Truck driving is so close to being a sweat shop and some will even help you to apply for food stamps if needed.

Well Ive read all these comments and agree with most everything, but the real question is and should be is "How do we turn it around!" Or have we lost it and just need to throw in the bag and leave it to the next generation of losers.. Because the Trucking Industry has been on a slow death since de-regulation. Whats the solution guys!

I once was a start up company as will as many here on this forum and we know what work is but if you want to work for a company that pays crap for wages than who am I to say? Where is that bridge you have or is that another lie?Click to expand...
What don't you understand, all I said was that your example of the ONLY job that doesn't pay overtime really isn't correct, as far as selling you a bridge, I'm sure that is not the first time you have heard that saying, it doesn't mean I technically have a bridge to sell you.
It's not a "lie" it's a reference to a cultural exchange.Click to expand... -
considering the rates out there. that shouldn't be a problem for them. and poses a big problem for US.Jimmy T said: ↑I'm sure they'll only be hauling the freight American truckers don't want to haul!Click to expand...

at .28 mile....you would need to be DRIVING 14hr per day, 5 days a week to make 60k. That's not including your breaks.RickG said: ↑It's because Americans are lazy and gullible. They need a job , think anybody can be a trucker and ride up and down the road. So they go to a CDL mill or starter carrier and never do the math to figure how many miles you have to run at $.28 a mile to make $60,000 a year. They never check a carrier's fleet size year to year and ask why orientation classes are filled every week when the fleet size stays the same.
There are good starting opportunities out there but finding them would take hours of research and interviews. It's much easier to sign up with the recruiters going to CDL mills.Click to expand...
