Driver shortage pushing up pay

Well,

seems they were wrong !!!

 

how can there be a shortage when they push so many drivers through school,if that was the case we would all be runnin our butts off

 

That's a truck shortage , not a driver shortage . Maybe they can't find trucks because they aren't willing to pay decent rates .

 

The big carriers won't get specialized like tanker and oversize . Those shippers select carriers on quality of service and reliability not cheap rates.

 

Maybe it isn't really a shortge. Maybe companies have more trucks than they need.

 

They come up with a new solution!

This story goes with this topic I suppose. In the end the author makes the case that it's not a driver shortage as much as it is a driver pay shortage.

 

There is NO driver shortage...what there is, is a shortage of very dependable drivers..all the good ones have left due to the mediocre pay for the amount of bs that these co's give nowadays.

 

Some of us "good guys" have "good gigs", BUT the vast majority of truck drivers are grossly underpaid and do nothing about it!

 

Owners of companies usually care about only one thing ... $$$$ ... wouldn't you?
