The only part of this I would agree to...

"There are not enough "QUALIFIED" drivers"

They have enough steering wheel holders.

No such thing. There has always been a shortage ever since the big carriers realized that it helped them recruit new meat to line up in front of the grinder. Now with unemployment high, they are saying it more than ever to try to get more fresh meat into the system. It is a recruitment tactic and a lie they perpetuate to further their cause.

Its kind of like the tactic the Germans used.

"don't worry, everything will be fine. now just step into the next room for a shower".......................:smt077:smt077

Sometimes it is better to believe a lie than to know the truth of what is about to happen to you.

In 3.5 years I'll be part of the driver shortage. I'll be done. Thirty one years ago I made a commitment to myself that at the age of 60 I would hang up my big truck driving shoes. I've accomplished everything I set out to do. Not to put any feathers in my cap, but God willing I'll take my 4.5 million safe miles, 2 tickets and fade off into the sunset and let these companies continue on with their deceptive employment practices, and keep the driver revolving door spinning. Oh, but I will keep an active part of my life involved with TTR,

If there were truly a driver shortage, our pay would be higher instead of making the same wages we were 20 years ago.

Yes very serious!!!!!!, There's no driver shortage, the only problem mega carriers are having is, Holding onto good qualified drivers, Just like myself, I have spottless record, After more than 20 years, No Accidents, No violations, Zero csa points, Got a job offer to work local, More pay, better bennefits, Home every night with the fam, So?, I took it
