And I will be very pissed if, in 10 years time, a remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers comes out using my idea.

Ha how do folks keep finding this old thread?

As best as I can remember it happened just east of Amarillo and was that little triangle window glass forward of the one you roll down in an International.

My IH triangle window fell out on its own one day when the bottom pivot rotted off.

I have had a lot of rocks fly off the drives and wack the side mirror or mounts and ricochet into the side glass. My house, base and quarry roads are all gravel. It obviously got way worse with new rubber. Ejection was often hundred miles away.

Had the drivers side window in my car shatter for no reason while driving from Starkville to West Point.

    Nothing shatters for no reason.
    Use some reason, and thought...

That happened to me last year sometime in November .
    I was
Driving on I15, in Las Vegas , when suddenly my driver side window shattered. It sounded like someone shot at me . I careful stopped and I checked myself for blood or
For any extra hole , I was glad that Nothing happened to me .
I found out inside my truck , a driver wrench with 5/8 socket attached to it. I called the police and I reported .
I did not know if someone threw it at me or a car kicked .
That was my only one time experience with shattered windows.

Well I’m sure there could be a reason. It was probably defective. But driving down the highway at 65 and having read about cars being shot at in the past... My first thought was that... It being defective didn’t cross my mind till I made sure me and my passenger were safe.

It happens. Had a $800 curved back glass shatter on a Vette last summer parked in a closed garage all by itself in the dark. It was determined that a small fissure started at one of the defroster wires that runs across the glass. But the defroster was/is disconnected because we had it tinted. So it had to have been a manufacturing defect that got aggravated by the possible heat caused by the dark tint when it was out in the sun. Don’t know.
