Nonsense, there is NO reg that requires a sleep apnea test, EVERY carrier has different requirements.

i have never been questioned about sleep apnea, never been tested. the type of companies who require it you prob dont want to work for anyways. but if you have it the machine makes a huge difference.in quality of life.
but i am an owner op, its different. as long as my dr doesnt say anything about it i am not concerned.

Who said there's a "reg" that requires a sleep apnea test?
My point is that the industry is moving towards this and most major carriers will have company policies covering it.
The first thing they look at is bmi and/or neck size (over 18").
If you know a major carrier that does not have a sleep apnea policy for drivers - please tell us.

Lay off caffeine, salt, tomato sauce foods a couple days and the day of before you take any tests too so that your blood pressure stays down.

    Maybe..But O.P. don't count on that. I pull flats/steps 80% of the time;RGN and Conestoga 15% and dry-box 5%. I've put on 40lbs in the 8yrs I've been out heah..but then I used to be 6'2"..I'm 6'1" now. 285lbs.

As stated by other posters it all depends on the company if you will be tested for sleep apnea,as it is NOT as of yet mandatory. You may want to consider having the test done at some point though.

Don't let your weight now stop you man..Yes you can do it at your size now- Go For It and Good Luck.!!:biggrin_255:
