Very well put. A good night sleep can make so much difference.
I know if a loud reefer parks next to me, it seems to mess with me all day.

I am flat bedding and when I started I was right about 339 at 6'1". Currently I hold steady at 293 and alot of it its muscle. Lifting and carrying tarps, climbing up on the deck several times a day, cranking down on straps and chains. You basically have to go into it with the attitude that you can do it and don't let it stop you or cause you to quit. In a few weeks you will be down probably 20 pounds and feel alot better.

You know it's amazing the smaller guys look at the big guys "boy I bet he can do the job easier than I can"

and the bigger guys look at the smaller guys and say the same thing.

Yeah and it is funny. I have been doing alot of oil field loads between tx to la and get down there. Most of the other drivers are little skinny guys driving long nose petes and when I pull in its like they are taking bets on wheather or not i can get on my deck. Most of them look surprised when in nothing flat I go from the ground to the deck.

i think the skinny guys def have the advantage. the job kicks my butt sometimes. and its always embatasing when an 80yo flatbedder kicks your butt doing the same job.

tuesday i droped my second and third (final) drops in dallas. it was 80+ degrees out. thr final only came in to unload.me because one of the machines they needed to deliver asap. so i pull in and untarp, unstrap, put gear away and then when they get the machines off i have to roll my tarps. two 8' drops. they are waiting on my to leave so they can lock the gate and go deliver the machine so i am rushed when normally i take my time, get the job done and dont kill myself. the only place to roll my tarps up is way far away from the truck. i drag them over, roll them up and then have to carry them a good 75yds to the trk. by the time i got the second one there i couldnt get it up on the deck. i was panting like a dog, sweat dripping off my face and the old guy decides he wants to strike up a conversation. after a minute i think he just wanted me gone before i had a heart attack on his property.

i hate those tarps but they did get me home for thanksgiving since nobody else wanted to tarp 9'2" tall
