I'm totally with @AfterShock and @Pedigreed Bulldog here; just read this WHOLE long thread. Nothing much more to say than those two respectable drivers didn't touch on. Thanks, y'all.

You need to go to Cuba or North Korea with that socialist BS....
-
WELP, here it goes, guys....another thread shut down because the rookies have no respect for the Pedigreed persons on here~!
AfterShock, stayinback and Chasingthesky Thank this. -
In the various news reports, two things really stick out for me.
One states HD refused the load. That's peculiar, don't you think? That means someone at HD told someone at WE that the load was refused. There was communication.
Second, the driver drove home empty, and stated he was fired.
My speculation is that the driver called WE, probably talked about the people that needed the plywood, and the night shift office flunky told him he would be fired if he did gave the plywood away. So the driver did what he thought was the right thing, and figured he was fired.
WE management finds out later, and does it's damage control thing....
If my driver had been in that situation, I'd have put him on very freaking poster, newspaper article, facebook post and twitter feed I could possibly get him, EVEN IF I DISAGREED with his actions. It would be public relations GOLD for a long time.AfterShock and G13Tomcat Thank this. -
WE should've bought that load from HD and resale it for 2 or 3 times the regular market value. That plywood was too valuable to just give away like that.
-
Plywood is MORE valuable than lives and homes?!?!? NEVERMIND. I need to dip out of this thread. What say you, @Accidental Trucker ?!?!?! (
)
AfterShock and Accidental Trucker Thank this. -
Wait a sec, they didn't say that. Bottom line, it wasn't his to give away. What's all the fuss here?
-
Saying Western should've bought it for profit is the same in my book. Over and Out.AfterShock Thanks this.

Price gouging in an emergency is illegal in Florida. Ironic that you'd advocate illegal activity that personally affects people while calling someone a thief for a perceived crime with no victims.
Just so I've got this straight,
Helping people = bad
Taking advantage of storm victims for multiplied profit = good
Really cheery person, aren't youAfterShock, Pedigreed Bulldog and G13Tomcat Thank this. -
No need, there is a ignore button under the offender's name. In a dialog box that pops up. Click and you never see that stuff again.
Some of you others chiming in need to brew a pot of coffee and spend this afternoon reading ht entire thread. You will understand that many of the ideas and theories have been covered in pretty good detail already.
WE's eating 20K on a closed HD store filled with what 400,000 more in plywood? Ha. That's nothing. The fuel bill for WE probably evaporates at 20K daily....AfterShock and G13Tomcat Thank this.
