Have you given any thought to opening your OWN school??? Start small with one truck, train one driver at a time until you have the $$$ to grow... a lot of these guys/gals are paying several thousand to these lame-##### companies that only train them to pass the road test... do it correctly, and you could start an awesome trend in TX... there may even be some grants/SBA $$$ to get ya started... just a thought... The O/O in me ALWAYS wants to be in charge! LOL!

Here in Texas there are some rent a truck for your cdl test, they run you through the DPS cdl course and let you back up a couple time and then put you in line to be tested by DPS. These places are far more dangerous to the public than the likes of the mega carriers running a school and pumping out green drivers.

It certainly is someone to think about , but I am guessing the insurance costs would demand that you have a ratio higher than 1 on 1.

The biggest problem would be if he taught people to drive, not just get them their CDL, most companies still would not hire the students for they not coming from an accredited school. More to it than just getting a truck and teaching
