Possibly, but I have heard of some horrible CDL mills in Ontario who basically rubber stamp whoever shows up. One in particular offered a one week course!

I could be wrong, but isn't this part of being human, regardless of one's career choice?

    No.

Just about any truck driving school you go to is going to be worthless. Most driving instructors are worthless. I can testify to that after all I was the lead instructor that did the hiring. And I have had the owner go around me and hire a worthless driver to train to become an instructor.

BUT. For the sake of the residue of instructors out there who might teach a few students how to drive rather than "pass a test" I'm not willing to throw the entire training industry away.

So for all you "Wannabees" that want to become drivers, you are going to need a good instructor.

And as for Southern Pride? The "good 'ol days" are over and trucks will still be pounding the pavement long after you and I are both in our graves.

well lets remember everyone has an opinion and sp is right on almost everything in MY opinion. I don't think we should throw ll schools and instructors under the bus though. I had several instructors while in school some good some bad one in particular was awesome. he did the road work and he was patient and informative. He took his time when I asked questions he answered them, sometimes when we asked questions we got demo'ed instead of an answer. I asked what happens on an inspection at a scale we were getting close to one he had me pull in to the scale as I was supposed to then asked the officer to inspect MY TRUCK ! I freaked he laughed I passed and never worried again as I new what to expect.

Thanks southern pride, I havent been driving but a year, but I always remember what my dad told me once "I don't care if your cleaning toilets, you might as well do it right, they better be the best looking toilets in the #### town" So I try to take that attitude into every job i've ever had.
