How many of you have actually refused to give up a copy of your drivers license to a shipper/receiver when asked and have actually been allowed to load/unload?

I have.
I have also made a copy of my license that I actually give them.
Complete copy, but all of my personal information is blacked out and in a block of it's own, the complete address for the company I am leased to.
I had one person ask if that's a copy of my actual license, put the two side by side and she said thanks.northstarfire0693 Thanks this. -
Thats a good way to do it

I have A TWIC card.. So I I have been vetted by the FEDs That should be all that is required but ID. Not only did they require my driver's license but they took a photostatic copy of it. I'm a 1000 miles away from home and my woman is up in the woods in Vermont by yourself and I just gave a bunch of 9 English-speaking dock workers at a cold storage my address.. They wanna know who the h*** I am I wanna know if the even belong in my God #### country.. All you people need to wake up.. Take your country back. WWG1WGA

These days I fail to provide information where possible. One recent pair of shots at a chain pharmacy they wanted my phone number. I said nope. Am deaf, forget it.
PWEASE!? No. What part of deaf don't you understand,. er you are talking to me fine. That's the state training talking. Nothing to do with hearing. No phone number. Let's proceed or not. Which is it?
If they get stubbon and onery I hand em a number of a phone that has been disassembled for 5 years now. No one has checked to see if it was a working number.
I got my shots. They did not like it but I got em.vongrimmenstein Thanks this. -
When they ask to SEE my d/l I have no problem, when they want to copy it, that's something else. I ask for a copy of their privacy policy, and so far I have never received one. There is no security for those copies of our licenses, often copied then tossed on top of a filing cabinet or in a tray. Without a copy of a privacy policy that shows, to me at least, there is not the least bit of concern or any attempt at all for security of our information. Like many others, I decline to let them make a copy and have been refused entry about half the time, and that is just fine with me. The carrier, not the driver, has liability for the load. If they want to verify I work for the company that's what company ID is for and they are free to call 24/7 to verify I am who I say. Look at my license to verify I have a CDL and often Hazmat endorsement, again not a problem, just no copies. And hell no to anyplace saying I have to leave my license at the guard shack and can retrieve it later, how about I just leave my credit cards and cash too.
JonJon78, DSK333 and vongrimmenstein Thank this. -
