Loaded at shipper, chained and tarped, (a lot of work!) drove about 20 miles to a truck stop and scaled.
I am permitted for 40,000 on the drives and the scale measured 40,400.

Would you run it? Or go back to the shipper and spend a half a day doing the job all over again?
By the way, I'll be running Kentucky.
Would you reorder Kentucky permit and add 500lbs? Also my drives are rated at only 40K.

    Macneil Thanks this.

Run it, no one will notice that especially on a rolling scale.

I know, but half the weight of the fuel is on the steers. I might only knock of 100 lbs by the time I hit the Kentucky scale.

    Oxbow Thanks this.

At 7 lbs per gallon and 6 or so mpg you lose around a pound per mile or a tad more. How far is the next dot scale ya gotta cross? 250-300 miles? Yeah, run it. 20 miles....maybe not.

Remember, the tanks weight is shared by the drives and steers. So maybe about 1/2 lb or so per mile. Right?

Slide your seat forward two notches.

I think 3lbs per gallon coming off the drives should be safe bet. Conservatively.

Move equipment out of your headache rack. If you can.
My extra chains, binders tarps..moved about 300# snow chains also.
I had an empty box on trailer.
    Good luck.

Misread the title. I thought it said drivers over 400 lbs, I’ve seen plenty.
