I used a little skid steer...and it was fun. If I had a bigger area to do, I would've rented something bigger. Shouldn't take you too long to have 'er figured out...ain't like it's rocket science.

Yeah it takes practice. Driveway is almost 700 feet long. For most of that distance it's 12' wide. That stretch is the easy part. The parking/turn around or pad area is a little more work. The driveway part is looking good. The pad, ehhh, it'll look better when it's got gravel covering it. I ####ed up a couple of spots I'm sure they'll be puddle areas.

Do the rough leveling of drive and pad. Then hire someone with a grader to finish.
I hire someone to smooth my driveway every other year. Mine is gravel. I add about 20 feet a year couple more years I'll have a complete u around my house.
Now I back off the road.

I'd come over to help supervise and offer advice. But I'm guessing you already have plenty of that "help".:)
    Have a good day.

Actually my buddy rode his bike down to have a look see and ended up box scraping. He said he could have done it with that alone no need for the dozer but #### it sure does move dirt easy. Not finished yet. We'll hit it again tomorrow if it doesn't rain and finish it. 20170520_121634.jpg

I've done a ton of work with a 5' box blade over the years - in fact you can do just about anything with it if you don't mind the time it takes. I just spent a day in my dozer and had I used the back hoe and the Kubota with a box blade, it would probably take me at least a month, if the weather cooperated. I pushed a lot of trees over, and plucked out 4-5 large stumps, the backhoe alone would have taken a couple days, and not pushed the trees around nearly as easy. Cat D5C XL Hystat, it's definitely spoiled me.
