I just called the DMV "medical" in NC and the only way a driver can find out what date was entered is to call them. You would think that they would have put that on your DMV license Info online for ease of access. She said maybe it might catch up one day.

This is why I hand deliver my current new cert every year and get my mvr record printed out since it's on there.

In-person reporting for me too. You can't trust the state to do it correctly any other way and you can be sure they'll make your life hell if they screw it up.

You have to have a DOT dr approved medical card and since I have diabetes it's every year for me. For most 2 years. One without the other equals no CDL.

I see. I guess that's like the driver's medical we need to do here when we renew our licence. We don't get an actual card though.

    Good question..
You go to an approved DOT medical certification client and do the following so your healthy enough to drive an 18 wheeler.

    Touch your toes.
    Check your blood pressure.
    Read the eye chart.
    Pee in a cup.

    G13Tomcat and AModelCat Thank this.

But that is not an option for everyone. Online NC charges $10 for a Non-Certified MVR.

Since it is mandated by the FMCSA and all states are in compliance.
You send your Self-certification to DMV/Medical so it in the same database as your driving record.
You do not have to carry your Med Card after two weeks.

All it would take is adding some code to the existing Webpage and pull that date over onto your DMV records that you can view online. It is nothing secret and you do have to log in to see your DMV information. The system has been in place for over a year now officially and it is time the Website reflects that information.

I am sure the OP lost time and money in trying to get a clerical error straightened out.

    Add

    Medical Card (mm/dd/yy) - xx/xx/xx
    If exempt - N/A
If Class C or does not need a Med Card - N/A

I am going to write the Commissioner for the DMV of NC and find out why the system is not up to date. I suspect no one thought of this.

    G13Tomcat Thanks this.
