The hardest work is keeping your hoses in order, venting, and such. As long as you are getting that much training, you should be good.
The "other" hard work is avoiding PV's and such, LoL~!
Sounds decent... best of luck, eh? ;) !

Drove this hotrod around Seattle for 4 years before moving to Spokane and going OTR with tankers. T300 KW with the 8.3 cummins set at 300hp with a 5 speed Allison. 5200 gallon 2 compartment tank with one 1 1/2" rear hose reel, one 1" rear hose reel and one 1 1/2" side hose rear. Did everything from gravity drops at gas stations, home heating oil, and construction sites. Hardest part of the job was draging 100' of 1" hose full of fuel up out of a 60' deep basement hole by hand. You get some strange looks from people when you plug the hose into the side of a building. Best part of that job was working on the University of Washington campus.:cool:

Will the hoses retract or am I going to have to pull them and roll them myself?

Interesting. It maybe possible I do gas stations as ell, but thought that was meant for bigger tankers.
Is it hard to pull this 1 inch hose out? Or or 1 1/2' for that matter

All set ups i've seen (including my tank, a combination, however...) are driver/operator attention to hoses. Again, I'm not a gas hauler; could be wrong.

my second job was pumping gas at a privately owned station in the 70's. due to the slope of the property, the local GULF distribution point only sent one tankwagon. if that guy was on vacation they sent a bobtail because non of the other drivers could get it all off their wagons due to the slope of the place.

We get refueled by a bobtail now - Rastall oil out of North Brunswick, NJ comes in every other night and fills everyone up. We park on pavement, construction means moving around and dealing with mud and the hoses a lot.

The stations I did where little co-op's that got dyed fuel every now and again but yes most of the time its the bigger trucks.

If the hose reals are maintained well they roll in an out pretty easy. Most of the resistance is the weight of the hose on the ground. The hose reels are also electric rewind.

He's right. Most of the resistance is the weight of the hose, itself.
