The tarantulas start moving in huge numbers around October I think. Feral hogs, scorpions, rattle snakes ... just don't wander far from your truck and the road, day or night. Humans will probably not be a problem.

If you're that afraid go to San Antonio and turn south on 35. Adds about 100 miles but you won't have to worry about banditos riding out on their horses firing their six shooters to rob you.
Frankizifaddag, MachoCyclone and Lepton1 Thank this. -

I'd rather be down there than Detroit or St. Loius or fill in the blank _________
izifaddag, poppapump1332, 207nomad and 4 others Thank this. -
I ran part of that route going to Del Rio a few weeks ago.. not bad at all, pretty heavy border patrol presence the whole way. I hit an owl or hawk or some kind of large bird and broke my grill along the way but I dont think that risk is limited to the border area lol. Nice new pilot in Carrizo Springs too
bzinger Thanks this.
