Took off those thick sole shoes.
    Pilled off those sweaty socks.
    Drove like that a bit...WOW!!!

    Soothing! Reinvigorating!

How many laws did I break?
How many risks did I take?
    Please say NONE.

None, just as long as you cracked the windows a bit, for some cross ventilation. Just don’t be the guy without any pants on.

My shoes never touch my pedals or floor mat in front of them.. I hear it’s illegal but in 25 years and many many inspections not one officer commented on it.

Since I started driving back in ‘98 my shoes have never gone past the door. I’ve always had rugs and towels down on the floor and I drive in my socks.

I drove my Western Star barefooted. The clutch pedal is super stiff and has a grate type non slip like a dirt bike peg.

I used to have soles so thick from being Barefoot all my life that I could walk across coals.

Driving barefoot is legal in all 50 states. Like Tommymonza sez, years ago, pedals were made of steel and had that grating on them, not unlike a cheese grater. My 1st trucking job in the 70's, bunch of macho cowboys with their boots and spurs and all, I show up in tennis shoes. They all split a gut laughing, kind of like if I asked them, "what's that sneezing sound"? Most of my jobs trucking were P&D and safety shoes were required, but when I had my own truck, I wore moccasins.

I'm pretty sure that I even drove without shoes in my trainers truck years ago.

Since then I don't even wear socks driving unless it's winter time.

Just remember, it is illegal to take a girl under 16 across state lines barefooted.
