I'm okay with a man-hug... traditional rules apply.

I wasn't thinking about my feet all I was thinking was GO.

What if I was part of that wreck? My boots were right there next to me but where are they now?

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

What if an asteroid came down and smashed your truck flat as a pancake and it didn't matter?

The first rule of accidents and rescues is don't add to the tragedy by becoming a victim yourself. How long does it take to put on a pair of boots?

    tommymonza and Rideandrepair Thank this.

Steel toe work boots and jeans for me. I drove across the country with no AC just though just last week and had to switch to shorts and sneakers. That was one stinky and sweaty 3 days (never doing that again)

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

As I pointed out in the post you quoted...What if I was in the wreck and my boots are now nowhere to be found?

Do what you want but I'm always going to have at least tennis shoes on when driving.

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

I've been stung twice in my life. Both times while driving a truck and the window was down.

I don’t like sharing my cab with stinging critters one bit.
