    Goodness, Thanks Flood...LOL

I agree with Craig that you would probably go to Markham......Orientation is 3 days but it can take longer to get through depending on how quick they get everything done and you get hired (some places it can be a week)....Training is 150 hrs driving, 10 of which can be backing practice......I heard that there are about 10 female trainers......You can do the 150hrs in about 3 weeks but it all depends on the miles and if your Trainer goes home during that time.

Leave for US Xpress Tues. Already have CDL. But I am a newbie....Can anyone tell me about the phy. part of getting the job...Read somewhere I would have to lift 78 lbs up and down shelves. Is this true?

I believe they give it to you tax free. what I am lead to believe that it is your money that they give to you before it is taxed. Yes the less you pay in taxes through out the year can effect SSI. It can also effect Your income tax return. Your tax return is the amount of taxes that you have overpaid or deducted. and they will give you the over payment back(refund). So your giving the government a free loan. then he returns it to you and calls it a refund.

What works for me is I up my deductions and eliminate the refund altogether. they don't owe me and I don't owe them.
Now if you owe them? they will assess all kind of fee's, interest and penalties on you.

I would have to say " the great pumpkin" for the education. Now we all know that a D.M can make or break a company. If you get a good one, keep him.

    The other's I don't know about.

Wow 6months is a long time to not put any money in your pocket.
I was at swift, just got my license I trained for 3mos. then got my own truck. its not rocket science you just get up earlier and drive slower. don't hit anything. hold your D.M accountable, be on time. Watch out for driver trainers who want to sit in the pass. seat and sleep or yell. Don't put up with this. They are there to do a job, and that is to train you. If they can't train you because of the yelling or back seat driving. Tell the company you want a new one. preferably someone who can teach.

Correct me if I am reading the wrong stats, but it says you have been a driver for 6 years? if this is correct why would you need a trainer?
