Driving in Australia

The wife asked one day if I had a choice of an overseas vacation, where would I want to go, without thinking twice about it, I said Australia. She looked at me baffled and said why, what’s there ? I said “ROADTRAINS”………..

 

Don't worry , dear, I'll send a postcard.

 

There are Aussies that come here and drive for part of the year. Even have HAZMAT.

I looked into doing this a few years ago..I’m British and wanted to see what the misfits done with the place
Problem was I ran into a wall researching about getting the work Visa. One can easily get the Visa if it’s a profession that Australia had needs for.. Unfortunately once I searched their database for qualifying jobs I came up with none for trucking.

Maybe things have changed since I last looked?

Still on my very short list of places I would like to visit.

Australia is definitely on the trucking bug out list…….. but it seems quite difficult to get a work visa

Iceland is top of the nontrucking bug out list……

 

Australia is a trucking nightmare, all the drivers there keep going on the wrong side of the road.

 

Try driving while upside down & hunted by crocs & kangaroos.

 

Mexico only requires proof of having 250k and you’re in.

 

Just throwing this out there.....A couple years ago I researched where I might flee to if it became absolutely necessary, and as Canada was getting weird, too, I found out that New Zealand is looking for people, too.

They send me an email every couple weeks, basically asking me if I'm packed yet.

Just remember, most other countries only let you in if you have a job lined up, and have money to pay immigration fees, temporary housing costs, etc.

You can't just show up at the border and get free #### from the government gravy train......
