Driving in sock feet

I'm always in socks, wether driving or at home. Guess you'd say it's a lifestyle choice. I like the feeling of the pedals in socked feet and believe you have better control then if in clunky shoes or boots.

 

I go barefoot with a pair of flip-flops at the ready. I get REALLY bad athletes foot when I wear shoes all day.

I also have bathroom throw rugs in the sleeper and in front of each seat, much easier to clean and feels good on the feet.

 

Lumberman: I've had to team at various times, and the other guy's foot smell was often a problem until I found the magic ticket: Johnson's Medicated Baby Powder.
No more foot smell, and I'll bet it would cure your athlete's foot.
...and ya know, changing SOCKS every day isn't such a bad idea either guys...

 

My guy always wears steel toe boots when he's driving. He hates going barefoot and much to my chagrin even sleeps in his socks. However, he also changes socks like every 10 hours. He is positively anal about that, and he never gets athletes foot. So I guess it works.

Me, I'm a 4-wheeler who loves to go barefoot, and yes I drive barefoot in the summer. I can drive in anything but platform shoes. I've got long legs so if I'm wearing platforms I have to take them off otherwise I'm too far from the steering wheel and it's uncomfortable. I have a pair of steel toe boots somewhere from when I used to help out in my friends stable back in Jersey. Never drove in them because they tended to smell like horse poop.

For who ever mentioned foot odor, try Gold Bond's foot powder, it works.I did a mission trip to Maine with my church years ago and I was known as the Gold Bond Fairy. Every night when no one was looking I would sprinkle Gold Bond foot powder in all the ladies work boots in the cabin. One young lady, the smell from her boots coulda been used to scare off bears. But after a few days of the GBF the smell went away. Have no idea what made me pack it, as I never used it before or since.

I've tried changing socks several times a day and the athletes foot still wouldn't go away. Even when I go barefoot and my toes are cold my feet are still sweaty, it's just the way they are.

I also just prefer to not have anything on me feet, in the driver seat, in the sleeper and at home.

 

I'm no doctor nor am I recommending it, but I have this stuff called B+Drier that uses aluminum chloride (hexahydrate) at 15% to decrease underarm persperation. I only use it when I have to be out among people for a time, like church, and don't want to end up with Hircismus (armpit odor), a problem for me. I don't like using aluminum anything though on the body, since aluminum as a metal was disposed to cause fatigue, and that's something I can't deal with on top of age related fatigue.
You might try the medicate powder instead, as it uses corn starch for the drying agent...and I've not seen many lethargic farmboys.
Incidentally, it's why when camping we will use teflon or anything NOT aluminum to cook in.

 

I work in athletics, and there's a product called "No More Stinky Feet" that's fairly effective. It's a pump spray for shoes and works pretty well at eliminating the odor in sneaks.

When my shoes get funky, I use it in the evening when I remove my shoes and by morning, they're fresh again.

 

alot of the truck stops sell MONKEY BUTT powder believe it or not it's pretty good for your feet!
