To answer the original question, you could try to get into transportation in any of the services, however the devil is in the details. Say it with me, specialization.
You could wind up getting pigeon-holed into something very specific, due to "needs of the service", and that may not translate back out to civvy land. However, the flip-side might be an opportunity. Say you go Air Force and wind up in aircraft handling equipment (the little tugs that push/pull the planes or the cargo loader vehicles). Might get you a job at an airport after you are done.
Best bet is to seek out people currently in the service and see what they say.

I don't know about the other services but in the navy your chances of driving a road truck are almost nil. We did have specialized billets that was nothing but driving. For example the recruiting command in D.C. There's about 10 billets and 500 people applying for a job. Plus they hardly go out anymore because of cutbacks. I got lucky my last duty station and went to a base in Southern Maryland and was the only Seabee there. It was an R and D command and we did range clean up for old bombing ranges. That meant we had specialized heavy equipment that was remote control. Since I was a Seabee I got the job of moving this equipment around the country. I was out for a couple of months in a Ryder tractor with a 60 ton triple Navy trailer. The command had no trucks. I was very lucky because most trucking companies did not consider military truck driving as OTR experience. I had to count my civilian driving to get hired, 2 years at Sav-A-Stop Jacksonville FA and 3 years OTR with my last duty station.

BTW, all the military driving I did was in the Battalion and always done by E-5 and E-6s. Sorry but to get into trucking it's best to stay away from the military.
