Got a load of insulation going into what looks like downtown Boston. The delivery is to a condo building that being built right along the water front. 130 pier Four Blvd. I've never driven into Boston in my car or truck. Is it truck friendly in any way? My highway trainer told me that some places in Boston can be worse than New York city. I want to know what I'm getting myself into before accepting the preplan. The route there seems pretty straight forward, the interstate 90 takes me right by the delivery site.

I'm curious in these things, that I should be worried about.

    Any low bridges?
    No truck routes?
    How bad is the traffic?
    How's the maneuvering?

Lots of tight corners, low bridges, & 4 wheelers that hate trucks. No different than any other big city

Doesn't look too bad. Looks like 90 to exit 25 stay left for East service road and straight in. Come to a T intersection where you will have to turn left then back across then back it in. If it is a job site there will be workers to work traffic for you.

    Exit:
left on Seaport, right on B street, straight into 90 west.

    Easy.

My condolences. Make sure you get ahold of the contractor for directions.

Do not plan on parking in Boston. Consider Foxboro and a number of surrounding truckstops far from that city. Once you are empty get out of there and keep moving.

My Boston 30 years ago is maybe or may not still be the same Boston today in terms of traffic. The dropped the big dig in since my time. I usually went into the Market in the core downtown. Chelsea I think.

If you are in traffic, be assertive. Don't go throwing your size and weight around too much. But hold what you got and take the first 15 feet of open space before someone else does. (And will.) Be in your proper exit lane before you get there.

Use Google earth to virtually drive the route given to you before you really do it.

My dad who used to drive a straight truck years ago told me never ask a Boston cop directions. They only know places where cars go not trucks

Well, for starters, stay off Storrow Dr. It sort of runs parallel with 90 for a little bit, and trucks always seem tempted to jump on it lol.

Thanks for the info, for a second I thought it was too good to be true. Looks like I'll have to stop down the street and call the contractor before attempting to back in right.
I have, the whole area looks very densely populated and the roads don't look very big.
Was also thinking this, I heard Massachusetts is very unfriendly when it comes to trucks and truck stops. Judging by the time it will take to get there I'll run out of hours at the construction site. Waiting on my company to get back to me if I can sleep on site or to delay the delivery for a later time. Thanks for your input.

Thanks aha, doesn't seem too bad, but anytime I say that it ends up being pretty bad.

You will be out of hours at the delivery site and cannot move?

No no no. Don't go there. Get another appointment time where you can be there WITH HOURS TO GET OUT of Boston. You are going to have issues downtown if unable to move. Imatellingyou.

Repeat Boston is NOT a truck town. They don't host semis any longer than they can get rid of you.
