I am considering US Express after CDL school. Do you recall at what pay rate they start students out at? Thanks for the info!

You probably brought me pizza a time or two. At the Knight Terminal. It was delicious. Trust me, you go to any of those companies terminals at the right time you will find some sour, bitter individuals. Now the question is does this industry attract that type or make people that way? My guess is a little of both.

I would think it's a little of both too. The coolest drivers I've met were at the Knight and Swift terminals. I only encountered one Knight driver who was just looking for someone to be a d**k to. I met one cool USX driver, too. Yeah, just one.

I ordered Dominos when I was there. Bad part now is that they don't let the delivery guys inside the terminal. We have to meet the guy at the gate.

I can tell you exactly why!
The owner (and also the driver) of Red Sun Buffet got into a fistfight with a driver from East Wind Buffet. The fight wouldn't have happened if that ##### from Red Sun wasn't throwing away all of the competition's menus. So security won't allow any delivery drivers past the gate.
I don't know if she had a tooth knocked out there or if it simply fell out around that time. She clearly never brushed her teeth in her life. She had all of them before the before the fight, but was missing one after the fight. It could have simply fallen out though.

Our terminals are littered with menus from all the local restaurants. I can find a Chinese menu with my eyes closed.

I yelled at a kid who was cleaning up the Springfield terminal. He was actually throwing away ALL the menus. Told him that was NOT part of cleaning up.

    Hey

Can any US-XPRESS lease drivers tell me about their avg. miles/route/net pay for solo lease drivers?

I've been driving on and off since 1994 due to extreme personal issues had to get out of the business for the last 1.5 years (losing 3 of my trucks in the process) :-(

I have paid off lease purchase trucks in the past and now I am jumping back in with USX.
After doing a lot of researching, talking, etc. I am going to get this first truck paid off ASAP and then hire a solo to drive it while I complete another lease then do a rinse repeat until I rebuild my small fleet again. Hardest part is rebuilding from the ground up, but I did it once before I can do it again (patient willing)

Heading down to Tunnel Hill Monday...any and all answers to the original question above is much appriecatied. Thx in advance

Don't worry about it, vinsanity. My post might have broken the camels back.

    Hope you're feeling better.
