Major error in my last post -- I'm going to Western Express, not Heartland Express.

Those are some decent miles-good for you!

Do you not like going to Laredo? I know it is a huge hub. Seems like you have shifted again out of the NE moving more west now. You might keep getting those increased miles that way at least. Some people have been posting freight has been slow lately and I do know that this time of year it can slow down, after the holidays when we are all broke! Well except for that dog food and tissue paper-no one can live with out that!!!:biggrin_2559:

Stay well my friend and hopefully your new truck is behaving!!!!!

Hi Wedge, I have really enjoyed all your posts. I admit that I did skip around... LOL
I have been really considering US Xpress. If you are running solo, do they pressure you to become a lease owner? Raetnrunner

    Wedge Thanks this.

Pleased to meet you, Raetnrunner. :biggrin_25514:

I hope my thread provided some good info for you on USX.

They won't pressure you to go lease. You can stay a company driver until you retire if you like.

After you get some experience and learn this business, you can look into leasing or becoming an owner/operator. But first, get some seat time and see how you like it.

    Hey Sammycat

I haven't seen the NE since the summer. I spend the bulk of my time in and out of the mid-west. Been seeing Texas a lot lately.

I don't mind going to Laredo. It's a great run and there's always a return run out of there. Problem with this last run, I was low on my 70 and I showed up on a Friday needing to shut down for a break. So by the time I got a preplan out, I squeezed out a 34 reset.

So this weeks pay settlement was 2,356 miles for 5 1/2 days plus a reset.

I'm still running hard and that's why I haven't been on much. But I've been out for over 4 weeks and will be working my way home for the 31st.

    Can't wait. I'm beat.

    sammycat Thanks this.

There are a few autos left but all of the new trucks for the last 2 1/2 years are 10 speeds

    Hey Wedge!

You certainly are keeping busy and getting miles -what it is all about! Besides you have had your fair share of sitting around waiting to get fixed! So you will be out this time about 5 weeks before you go home-long time. I hope you have some nice home time (days off!) and get some rest but I am sure that you will be busy doing things!

Be glad you are not here today- very bad out. Got a little snow then sleet and now ice. These days I am glad I am not out driving in that garbage!

    Stay safe my friend!!

    Wedge Thanks this.
