I do believe they look at your MVR and DAC when verifying your driving record. If you've never driven a truck then you don't have a DAC. So I think the answer to your question is yes but don't take my word for it.

IF you have received a ticket, been in an accident, or gotten a felony in THE TIME PERIOD asked on the application......REGARDLESS of weather is shows anywhere you HAVE TO TELL them. If you dont, you WILL be fired because they WILL find out.

You answer the application honestly but don't volunteer info they don't ask for. Any DOT forms you answer honestly. Sure you can get away with some stuff. But you lie and you get in an accident, they will find out everything about you and your arse will be grarse, lol. Your MVR goes back 3 years and the company ask for 7 years, you tell them.

Give some more thought to this speeding ticket. I think anything over 15 MPH over the speed limit is considered reckless driving in the industry. One of these can end your career or at least have you driving for companies nobody wants to drive for. If it's over five years then many will overlook it. -
How were you able to get your report? I need to pull my IN record and see what it says, but ran into the same unknown DL number iussue. -
My CA MVR did show one IN violation from 6 or 7 years ago. Driving at night with a motorcycle permit. On the IN record it lists it as such but they use a generic set of codes in CA for out of state violations and the code is for driving without a license. I was worried that'd hurt me but no companies ever asked about it. -
Here is how Texas breaks it down Driver Record Information:
Moving violations appear on a Type 2 driver record for a period of 3 years only. All moving and non-moving violations appear on a Type 3 driver record for a period of 15 years with the exception of serious offenses. Example: DWI and No Liability Insurance remain on the record indefinitely. Out-of-state convictions will appear on the driver record.
All crashes that are investigated by a police officer are recorded on the individuals driver record. The driver record does not indicate fault on the part of the individual but shows the date and location of crash. Please contact the Texas Department of Transportation at www.txdot.state.tx.us if you have questions concerning a crash that appears on your driver record. -
There is a form that prospective employers must fill out to request a records check. It's titled:
"Request for National Driver Register File Check on Current or Prospective Employee"
NDR CHECK AUTHORIZATIONS:
Motor Vehicle Operators - Section 30305(b)(2) of 49 U.S.C. authorizes NDR checks on information reported within the past 3 years from the date of inquiry. Driver control actions reported prior to
that time, even if still in effect, will not be included.
I'm not sure if they have another method to check as I don't recall signing a request at the pre-employment orientation.
What about you Corporal Clegg, do you recall signing this form? -
According to "A Texas Motor Carriers Guide to Highway Safety" anything above Type 2 record the report is furnished to the licensee ONLY. So I guess there request will only get them the last three years. Again this is in Texas so other states might have different rules.

I had a speeding ticket just over three years ago for 25 over. Still got hired by several companies. It was not written up as a reckless or such, just speeding.
Sure am glad the smart ##### kid gave me a break in between smirks on my speed!
Other wise would have been a reckless. Good story behind the ticket....
