I went the route of C-1. I was out of work with lousy credit with C-1 I could go to school and they have a program to advance enough for basic living, put you up in a motel and pay for your CDL. In return you agree to work for one of several companies that they work with for a year. These companies take $45.00 a week out of your pay after you become a solo driver. At the end of your year they give you $1000 back and the rest is used as your portion of your schooling.

thats really good info. my credit is really bad right now and im just under roehls credit score and i was looking at drivers solutions but they only have two companies they work with usa and pam i didnt find alot of good stuff on usa but pam didnt look to bad but since you went through c-1 can you tell me alittle bit about them to see if might want to go their route instead it woud be a BIG help to me thanks. Im hoping when i have recovered from my surgery i can get to school. -
How soon can a student get on the 7/7 hometime plus fleet?
Can you start after Evo 2, or do you have to complete Evo 3? -
Hope all goes well with your surgery,,, I am in my second week of the school here in Marshfield now... So far I can tell you the instructors are knowledgeable, professional and teach you,,, the facilty here looks top notch,, as I am not out on my own yet,,, i cant tell you how the operational side is,, from my experiance so far i am looking forward to it,, i have done allot of research on many companies,, and you will find both possitive and negative no matter who you look at. The best advice I have gotten from experianced operators, both with Roehl and other companies is to keep an open mind and go with the flow,,,

HOTTub,
Not sure if this is still the case, but as of June of this year, Roehl had informed me they were not taking any additional drivers on the 7/7 fleet. May have changed by now though.
Good Luck regardless -

charmedgirl. I am a graduate of c-1. I went to fort wayne indiand. I had a great time there. the istructors are all great and I learned alot. I also have credit issues that stopped me from trying other routs. But I felt good about going to c-1 knowing that I would have a job when I graduated. I chose to work for usa-truck. I feel that they are a better company then pam. But thats only my opinion. Going by gut feeling thats all. I did alot of reserch on both. Yes you tend to read more bad then good. But keep in mind. Unhappy people tend to voice there opinion louder then happy people. right. So far from all the other guys I graduated with. usa-truck has gone smoother for us then the pam students. I actually leave for ohio sat (aug 15) for orientation. I very excited. I feel that c-1 gave me a good strong foundation.
good luck..
kkburr73x_nail_driver Thanks this.
