I was loaded the night I went NB on I 35 and saw two empty van trailers flipped on their side. One had the trailer doors open, not sure why. I suppose the impact could have popped the doors open.
I drove thru just after a big thunderstorm had blown them over. I saw the storm on radar, but I was loaded so I wasnt worried about my truck going over.
There are warning signs on I 35 on the north half about high winds. -
why can they invent a collapsible trailer already lol
Canadianhauler21, tinytim and skellr Thank this. -
They had a water bladder in the bottom for ballast when running empty. -

Wait until your pulling 48x102 dropdeck vans. We used to have all drop deck vans. And loaded down with bathtubs. You were more or less Empty. This trailers were big wind sails. You could look back the trailer was always leaning from the wind.
Also had this little 15" tires on them. That did not help one bit also. But make you feel like you were in a large car. When in the hills.
I never had any issues with empty tankers. And used to run 7 hours empty to get a load of Oil in Smackover AR back in the 80's. But hated that old smooth bore tanker I had to pull for a few months.Canadianhauler21 and IluvCATS Thank this. -
