1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Who will hire you if you are able to receive schooling?

It might keep you from getting hazmat endorsement. You're probably ok getting the CDL itself.

But this person would be wasting money because there are no carriers to my knowledge that will accept any CDL driver with a felony conviction in the past 5-years, let alone one who just received his CDL. It's just a waste of time & money.

    AfterShock Thanks this.

There's a company near here based out of S. Carolina called Carolina Cargo. They hire felons and run them as an East - West teams with a 20 cent split. For that all they're going to get is felons.

So it's possible. Smaller companies may use this as a niche to get a leg-up on the price of competition. After all it doesn't cost insurance any more than anyone else if the driving record is ok.

I already got an app in with carolina cargo and hopefully it will work out as long as I am getting the exp. its all good with me right now because there are companies out there who will hire me even with the felony as long as I have the required amount of exp.

you really want to stick your head into a $600 a week job. MickeyDees is paying 775.00 a week. And the DOT rarely check their logs. But you will need Hazmat....
