If you've been using it for 5 years it's not an ELD. It's an AOBR. There was no ELD's 5 years ago....

At the company I drove flatbed for we had Omnitracs, it was an AOBRD and the parameters were set as such (25mph or 2 miles before it kicked you to drive, etc). I lost my speedo going down hwy 12 in Idaho. Due to the nature of the road I noticed right away that I had no speedo and noted the mile marker as I was close to Lowell ID. That thing was confused and didn’t know what was going on. It was not recording vehicle movement, it simply said that it was malfunctioning and not working properly.
I started my paper log at Lowell and I called the office when I got to Kooskia ID and had phone service. She said it was showing my location changing but was not showing movement and stopped recording miles when at the time the speedo quit. I logged out and ran paper for the rest of the day and also the following 2 days until I got back to the shop and had the sensor replaced. Once I logged back in my log showed off duty at Kooskia ID the whole time and in the office nothing came up on her end showing unassigned movement because without the sensor there was no ecm info so as far as it knew the truck wasn’t moving. The only thing that was on the log grid was a red line on the drive time for about 20 minutes after the speedo stopped before I logged out.Lepton1 Thanks this. -
GPS drift has been a problem, might be part of the reason and there are others, no, I'm not the type to wear a tinfoil hat.
They finally got EROAD working, at least the split breaks and countdown are working right now,and I'm not getting false driveline starts anymore. There is another unit installed, a 4gLTE booster, it's only plugged into 12 volt power and unconnected to anything else. Annoying red light on the plug.Lepton1 Thanks this.
