Trailer pu in mi,sealed load. Going to calif.
Was in Nebraska dispatcher called telling me to pu another load in same trl also delivering in another city in calif.
Was told how to bypass seal so it would appear that only original load was transported. I refused and then was given ultimatum by dispatch to either load it or no more long distance runs. I dropped loaded trl at their yard still sealed with original law. Reason I thought this was illegal as the org shipper was paying for direct shipping point to point by sealing the load.
Carrier was trying to get paid for two loads. Original
    And partial. Thoughts

Crooked dispatcher. Tell owner in case he doesnt know. If dispatcher is still sitting at desk 5 minutes later. Find new job

Was offered 100.00 to pu and deliver partial load. And yes the owner knew. I was also told that 100.00 was what they paid drivers to do this. I refused and now am looking for another company. It's always been my understanding that sealed loads are a direct shipment . I had a sealed dry van and by pu the putting on the partial my BOL would not match and I would have been late to the org reciever.

Prolly good move on your part. Be aware that there might some backlash
    But prolly good move.
If the company used DAC when they hired you, then contact DAC and ask for copy of your dac (free) in about 4-6 weeks. In case they put stuff in there that is not true. I know this from experience.
PS never call Safety guy "wisker bisquit" they will get very upset. Esp. If its true :)

If they'll play those kind of games with their customers, imagine what they'll do to their drivers.

There are good companies in the world. That's not one of them.

I wouldn’t have a problem doing it as a one off, to be honest. That’s as a company driver though — I’m not implying it’s good business ethics, but that’s not really my problem if employer requests it.

I have multi stop pickups often that they give out a different seal at every stop. Obviously that’s different than two completely different origins and destinations, but what you’re describing is basically the business model of LTL. It’s a little ignorant risking an entire load due to loading another partial and changing seals, but certainly not unheard of.

Nothing illegal about the seal situation or transporting two loads at once. A little dishonest? Sure, and it might be a sign to find another carrier if it’s often. You can make 3 laps around the country if you want. As far as BOL, you just have to have BOL’s for whatever you’re hauling, whether it’s 1 or 27.

The only time I’d say absolutely not is if you’re mixing two refrigerated loads set at different temps and you’re running one at the wrong temp. And also if you’re hauling allergens or things that absolutely shouldn’t be together, like raw meat and produce.

I’d just take a picture of the seal in tact at the second shipper. Take a picture of the new seal. Upon delivery at first receiver, take a picture of the third seal you put on, and you can even ask the consignee to sign off on the reseal, and then take another picture showing it intact at the final. At that point, you did all you could do as a driver.
