You will when you get to the first receiver and they check the seal and it doesn't match the paperwork. Then the proverbial feces will hit the ceiling fan.
I'll do it if the first load doesn't have a seal or no seal number on the paperwork. -
Super GlueFullMetalJacket, LTL Bull and FLHT Thank this.

Maybe I’m out of touch with stops on vans and reefer but $100 plus the extra miles seems fair. I mean that’s $50 a stop it’s a lot more then I ever got when I ran freight that would have 20 stops I only got 15 or 20 depending on where they were plus mileage
OlegMel Thanks this. -
You missing the point. It was a sealed van.
A timed load. Org bol would not match with additional pu. It was a interstate load.navypoppop Thanks this. -
Your missing the point. It’s their truck, trailer, and customer. What they asked you to do was not illegal. You may have a problem with it but it’s not really your concern. They told you to do something you may consider unethical but they weren’t asking you to bypass the seal to steal or damage something. Sounds to me like you made a mountain out of a mole hill and now need to find another job. Good luckThrasher28, Pepper24, 88 Alpha and 2 others Thank this.

They did ask me to bypass the seal
They did empty the trailer before I picked it up . They did reload the trailer and put seal on after they picked it up from shipper.
They did unload the trailer in a crossdock and reload the pallets so reciever would not know what they tried to do. The company was not a ltl they were ft. Org company and broker did not agree to adding partial loads to there contracted van point to point.
And yes l left that company because I was not going to be the fall guy for tampering with a sealed load.Knucklehead, navypoppop and OlegMel Thank this. -
You’re not the fall guy. If there’s any issues you should let dispatch deal with it, however keep record of convos to cover yourself. I've had to “temper” with pharmaceutical loads once in a while because somebody screwed up or broker needed container checked for proper dry ice, level before delivery. At the end of the day you have to make sure you’re satisfied with the compensation that you get for the labor you perform. If you’re not happy than screw them. There’s 1000s of companies you can choose from. When choosing a company always look for google reviews or get an opinion form somebody who works there. Good luck.
