I think everyone's experiences are different, but Swift has been really good to me so far. Recruiter made me a promise concerning accomodations during training that were not standard, and their promises were kept.
The Academy was just fine, as long as you understand they only teach you what you bare bones need to get you CDL. My mentor was a crazy old Mexican dude with a heart of gold and 16 years of experience. Took a week for me to adjust to him, but after that, I had a wonderful time with my mentor and learned quite a bit. I also got lucky, I think, and ended up with a wonderful driver leader. She Rocks!! She had been a driver for several years, but due to a back injury, she had to come off the road.
Swift is a company that is geared toward nubies, and a such, are pretty good with handling and teaching inexperienced drivers. My impression anyway.
I've been solo for 7 months with Swift as thus far they have definitely earned my loyalty and been good to me.
Don't get me wrong, it isn't nirvana perfect, but no place is. The good has definitely out made up for the bad.
I make a little more than most new drivers because I am a Veteran and because I drive refrigerated freight. So, money is OK in comparison to the other starter companies.
Not saying everyone has a great experience with Swift, but so far, I certainly have.

    HaglerFan and GrumpyJoe Thank this.
