I say hide a shutoff valve on the emergency line somewhere under the trailer thats not easy to spot. Cheap and effective. Even an experienced tow guy would have a hard time and end up having to cage the brakes to move it.

Why don't they manufacture new trailers out the factory with remote-controlled automatic kingpin locks installed ... maybe someone ought to come up with a design and patent it

So is a plain old screwdriver.
I picked up a trailer once where there was no handle. It was laying on the ground next to the trailer, broken.
A screwdriver through the bracket holes and setting it to high gear (low gear, whatever) let me turn it, slowly, to raise the landing gear.Lepton1 Thanks this. -
Take off the glad hands? What is this, the railroad yard? Why not pull the wheels off while we're at it. I like Goodysnaps idea of hiding an air shutoff valve. That wagon ain't going anywhere, and you could inform someone in a "drop and hook" situation, and be on your way.
