Take a look at the pictures..... Ive finally got the pin to dis engage...but it only does it with my air line hooked up to it... if I unhook air , it'll re engage..... just trying to figure out how to drop the neck.... I was gonna deadhead back to Charlotte from Houston(where I just purchased trailer) but I found a load back but need to be able to drive vehicle onto trailer.....

On a Talbert you have to keep the red airline hooked up to the neck when you want to supply air to the lock cylinder.

Pull air n electric from truck to trailer off. Release fifth wheel. Pull forward. Unhook neck to deck air n electric. Back under neck. Block neck. Charge air to release trailer pin. Drive forward with neck.

You don't disengage the pin when the neck isn't hooked to the truck. ####er could slide out n lay down....?

Am I completely misunderstanding the question or situation here?

Is there a lever on the deck (towards the left front/ bottom corner) that you can move? That lever is what retracts the dowels on the deck the neck hooks around.

Not the handle up by the lock pin cylinder. All that is is a safety release for that air cylinder with the air chamber on it.

When you say block neck...you mean put 4x4 under the neck right?

And when I back back under the trailer the 2nd time... it lifts it off the ground.....trailer and neck

No, I don't see how those dowels retract.

Does any of this have to do with THIS lever........?? Ive yet to touch it. And as of right now I'm completely out from under trailer and that lever will not move.

Is your air dumped on the tractor suspension?
It's off the ground with the neck resting on the fifth wheel n not on the block at all?
