What did you eat? Don't do that again. -
Just for fun, here's a route for you. Lets here how a driver should route plan this since you seem to be perfect at it.
Load in Dallas proper at 2:30pm, finish loading and hit the road at 3:35pm. 9hrs 31min on your drive clock, 10hrs on your work clock. Gross weight is 78,500lbs and your truck is limited to 75mph and has enough power to go the speed limit if so desired. Delivery at the reciever is 1st come, 1st serve in Austin. You know for a fact that the Flying J in Jarrell, Tx (29mi from your delivery address) will be full by 5pm if not earlier, as well as the 1 or 2 small fuel stops close by there. No street parking at the reciever, because its full of trucks waiting for the morning as well. With construction traffic, it takes you 3hrs 29min to get to Austin. The only other truck stop is in Mustang Ridge, also approx 28mi from your delivery. Parking there is non existent after 4-5pm as well (remember you cant or won't make a spot).
Where do you park for the evening?G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
Stop early and split it you know it's going to to a peanut butter fest when you get close. Just don't even go into it. -
Shipper stops loading at 4pm. You dropped off your previous load less than an hour before you got to the shipper.
You could park early, do your 10 and drive to the reciever the next morning, but you will start burning that days drive clock doing so. -
How about this.
I'll do everything according to buddy and "by the rules" this coming week. I will NOT make a spot if there is no proper parking, I will NOT speed anywhere (I already dont), and anything else buddy says. I will deliver at my scheduled times when I have them. I run flatbed and I dont ever sit waiting during the week as I keep my loads pre-planned atleast 1 day in advance.
Whatcha say buddy?G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
Gentlemen, this is the one and only time it will be said in this thread, knock off the bickering. Infractions will be handed out going forward in this thread.
If you can't discuss things in a civil manner, put the other person on ignore so you don't see that member's posts.x1Heavy, dngrous_dime, G13Tomcat and 1 other person Thank this. -
I drove drowsy today, got flipped to day shift. Does that mean America hates me? No. Does that mean my company hates me....no? Does that mean the trucking industry is ####ed up...no. it means I have decided to live where we have hurricanes and will have to deal with this from time to time... it's totally in my control and I could go work another job elsewhere that wouldn't put me in this spot. Same as nobody is forcing any of y'all to drive until you can't anymore with nowhere to park. We have all chosen to do this.

FlaSwampRat and buddyd157 Thank this.
