Its not lying , its just getting himself out of a bad situation that he put himself in . the last thing u need there is the gods honest truth. There is only 2 places where the truth should be and that is church and in court. Anywhere else is fair game. Cops lie all the time or use language to get u to give them more info than u need to tell them , sometimees u got to play that game. It was his fault for puttinf himself there all im saying is if ur gonna do that dumb move of parking on the shoulder u need to have a good exit strategy when barney comes with his pen and paper

Regarding rote drill of backing to where you can back when tired, I will point to Chambersburg PA where there was a Excel Break Bulk warehouse chain to where I was given a choice of 22 docks on two acres of clear paved property to back in.

I could not do it. The higher function or precision part of the mind was not present due to my being tired from a overnight from Toldeo. I think we had Heinz Ketchup on that trip. It was not a bad customer as customers go but it was a signal of going to other places from then on.

I understand but I've been woke after 3 hours of sleep in the past 24 and backed into a spot to deliver.

Any time you get sleep even if it was a hour. One time I ran from MN St Paul all the way to Duncannon via US322 and stopped before there by the river to get exactly one hour of sleep I was pretty bad off. But I rested just for that hour as if it was a total vacation in mind. Needed to be in Jersey 9 am that day.

I was there 10 minutes to the good. Ive remembered that particular sleep, a blessed hour and the body and mind did some repairing that was really needed.

You had three. That has to be awesome when you got going.

I love all the little perfect trucking angels that have always got a perfect answer for what the other guy should do. Id love to see how often they fail to measure up to the criticism they dole out.

OP: i can squat 225 max.
Perfect trucker: you shouldve had a plan to squat 400, redbull helps. You arent a real driver anyway, Just quit now.

Only way to fix issue is to make sure one driving shift per 24 hour shift.

Reasoning is this lately I have seen loads starting at 8am 5 hour trip then 10 hour brake and another 5 hour trip back.

Now if I had s;pet the day earlier at 12 am woke up at 7am I sure as hell cant go to sleep at 2pm to start my backhual at 12 am.

Reason why it should be laws against this. This is one reason drivers are drowsy.
