i have heard this "story" a time or two, and you bought it????
-
If you aren't doing drugs then should be no problem. Hell, it costs them money every time they send you and it is costly! I would try to get him to test you as much as possible and eventually the company will see where the problem is or who is really doing the drugs!

this was my thought, I had a dispatcher that used to allways give me a hard time, and hated me I litterally got sent three times in about a month for testing until upper managment chewed his ### out.think I had about 12 hrs of OT that month just in testing/milking the clock to and from the placeCenutryClass Thanks this.

I never worry about a drug test. But, I believe the "random" thing is hog wash. When I was at PAM, I was talking to the safety/ training coordinator at a terminal. He was typing away at the computer then said shoot, they all got loads. I said that's a good thing. He told me he had three trainers with students waiting for loads in Laredo. Told me he was going to send them all down for testing. I said, and that's random? He just smiled.
At current company, I was tested 4 times in first two months. None since.
So my opinion will always be random is hog wash.CenutryClass Thanks this. -
I always thought random just meant you could be tested at any time, instead of on some sort of schedule. That's what it always meant in my non-trucking jobs.

Sure

Sounded plausible. -
I used to work for a school bus company that did "random" testing. They'd get a list that was randomly chosen, then the office manager and dispatcher would pick about half of them to actually get tested. It was pretty obvious to everyone that the testing was rigged. The group that all went to church together got chosen frequently and the group that actually did get stoned every weekend never got chosen.
I know this is how it happened because my wife occasionally worked in the office and saw it all. She was pretty pissed off about it because this was a school bus company. And before some of you get all %^#*, she did do something about it, management were all transferred. retired, or fired, and my wife and I had to get new jobs.
(Stoners all got ####y and thought they could add something they bought to their urine before the annual, scheduled test and they all tested positive and got fired for adulterating their urine.) -
if you are clean then just go and get it done with and forget it. If you are paid thats even better. We have one guy whos been out on family medical leave a lot and everytime he comes back to work he gets drug tested. He will come back for two days, get tested, be out a week, return, be retested etc. Hes been here lately but does not mind about going for the drug tests. He says its a easy few hours of getting paid and can send me everyday.
Do what I do to management. Yes they get on my case and I just wanna get right back at them, but I dont want to lose my job so I do what they tell me, get the work done, although I might not be happy of what area im doing or what truck I got, or even what they want me to do, I just do it with a smile and they cannot say anything about me. It really works when you make a mistake they will be more easier on you -
Under most company guidelines drivers are subjuect to 50% drivers selected per year random also FMSC can call up random lottery at any time, Not to mention most companies have reasonable suspscion clause which entails anything from wearing sunglasses to being later the usual on work related activited to bad attitude to even being argumentive out of character for you...
Stay clean, You can not be randomed for 4 years then get randomed 3x times in the same year...Last edited: May 31, 2012
