airline pilots can legally fly on prozac, some legal stuff is ok now that wasn't before

then you have ritalin that tests positive for amphetamines,

better to get help for a prob or not? if you do get help you might be done

better to have an untreated suicidal pilot? or functioning on meds

and if you have a prescription then no need to worry about a drug test... other than medicinal pot. Like I said previously if you are worried about a drug test you have no business driving anything

Wow, and if you look at the second comment on that thread it pretty much sums it up

"There are different classes of drugs on the list.. Talk to the pharmacist who fills it and ask first of all. The answers may surprise you. I don't know the specifics on oxycodone other than it may cause drowsiness.

The only ones there is no question about are the illegal drugs. No amount of those drugs is allowed. The company or their insurance may not allow drugs in other classes but the CDL itself is not necessarily denied because you are using a prescription drug under a doctor's orders."

If they are trying to prescribe you a banned prescription it is simply a matter of letting your Dr. know what you do and that you can not take that medication. Why would ANY professional driver take something that could end their career? Yes there are medications that can cause a false positive, which is why you always need to take your prescriptions with you when you take a drug test, or at a minimum let them know what you are taking. I stand by my previous statement that if someone is worried about a drug test then they have no business operating anything.

That's where I messed up>I forgot to get my degree in Pharmacology with my CDL so I could tell my DR not to prescribe me certain meds.

Good point but your Dr and Pharmacist are the experts, when you tell them what you do they should be responsible to know the legalities of your medications
