I sure hope he doesn't end up in Amarillo no time soon. Haven't been through there since last July or so, but someone kept advertising he was selling at the hook. I personally think it was a sting cuz he wouldnt come to the other side by pilot/petro. Either way....its one thing to listen to guys argue on the radio, but this dood was going every 10 secs. about his chicken feed.........breaker 1 9 If you got the need for speed, then I got the feed, kick up to 2 5 for the chicken feed man..........I'll never forget that slogan!!!!!!!
Ontario, Ca at the TA was bad too the month after!!!! The lizards were chargin guys 100 a shot....I got some good video of one literally truck hoping every 5 minutes. I'll have to post it on youtube one dayKennyworth67 Thanks this. -
Geoff, assuming you're clean which it sounds like you are, I think trucking would be an excellent way to get away from the people you don't want to be around any longer. It's much harder to stay clean when you are near other people that are doing it. Get yourself away from the idiot crowd even if it costs you friendships. You'll be better for it in the long run.
Kennyworth67 and PaulMinternational Thank this. -
Good news my friend become a truck driver and you won't be able to afford drugs it will be all you can do to work 60 hours a week and feed yourself.
U4EA Thanks this. -
You should have no problem staying clean while training. You're trainer will know everything you do and should see right away if you pick up and start using.Bear in mind once drug use is reported and confirmed by a test you will probably never drive a truck again.Once you start running,if you are concerned about temptation, request a team mate.He will keep an eye on you and you on him.

My early career was driving local. Then went OTR, then regional. All total I've been sitting in a truck seat for around 35 years. I have only seen one guy, sitting in one spot selling drugs. It was across the street at an abandon store. It was in Dallas, I-20 at the 472.
I dont look for drugs so I dont ever see it, but I agree, drugs are everywhere. Its out there. As a truck driver, at some point, you're going to end up in a place that is over run with drugs. You deliver & pickup in all sorts of places. In the hood, in the ghettos etc. You got to think about all the places you go besides truck stops.
So trucking is no different. You just gotta stay focused. -
Years ago more drugs were dealt in Truck Stops, but now most of the problems have been solved, I think. One place I was offered drugs was at an exit on Interstate 40, between the AZ NM line and the AZ scale. Looked like a movie location for Rawhide, but was operated by Indians.
