So I purchased a 2007 Stoughton dry van which seems to be in pretty good shape other then little rust on the outside. However, at the time of my inspection, there was one thing I missed.

Inside on the side where the wood ends and there is about 2 inches of aluminum. There are about 3 eatened up holes. Thete is no sunlight coming thru though. I have taken some pics and will be adding them here soon.

I wanted to ask TTR before showing my mechanic tomorrow on the best way to repair it.

With a 10 year old trailer, some customers may refuse to load a trailer that old.

I bought this trailer last week from a person who also repairs dry vans. This person was referred by someone I know.

I will take it back to him and show him this. Are there any rights I have?

You bought a 10 year old trailer just patch it and keep on working it. It looks that the holes are on the metal so I would just weld a new piece over the holes and be done with it.

    Ezrider_48501 and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

I have another 2008 which is in better shape. So far, not one broker asked if the van was less then 10 years old

Paper mills are typically the only ones who will require a trailer to be newer than ten years.

Just out of curiosity what is their reasoning behind that?

I guess because they have a tendency to break in half once they get so old. I used to pull dry van as a company driver and had to go and retrieve more than one broken trailer that suffered the consequences of pulp rolls.
