So basically there are no pros to running reefer.

Like a lotta you guys I've run both, and while I agree with all the cons of reefer runnin, I'll never run dry box again. The rates I get from our direct customers make the hassle totally worthwhile. I'd never see these rates runnin dry box, at least not consistently.

plus I like being lulled to sleep by the runnin of the thermoking behind me.

Well, that's good, but I assume the OP is coming from a company driver POV. As a company driver, I don't care what the rates are like. I'm only interested in a job that I enjoy and that gets me where I want to go, and keeps me busy and pays reasonably well. But I've done flats, dry, tank, and reefer, and reefer, for me, has meant more consistent money, and my preferred longer hauls, and the best balance between, money, lifestyle, ease, and personal enjoyment. And that will be something different for each individual.

But back to the rates .... they better be significantly better then dry, given the additional $20k upfront investment required, and all the ongoing fuel and maintenance costs involved with the units, and lumper costs, etc.

    Ryan423 and scottlav46 Thank this.
