I’m always looking for a good brand name used steer, at TA, Petro, Loves, or ? 24.5 LO on Truck. 22.5 Tall on Trailer. Don’t want too change either. Only option I’d have is going 22.5 Tall on Truck also. Probably ride better, but some claim will cost fuel mileage. They’re all hard to find except 22.5 LP they’re everywhere, ever since oil first went up to $100 barrel yrs ago, all the fleets use them exclusively because they’re cheaper. Anyway a good used Brand name, or preferably 2 new, any name, made any where steer tire seems to work best. 2 new mounted side by side, moving a good one somewhere else, or on the rack for later. Average $260 installed each or less, and I’m happy. Been doing it this way since the Great Recession. Less painful than forking out $2400+. Back then I had a few different Truckstops that gave me “deals” on good tires before they were inventoried for recap. I’m not Proud of it, but everyone was trying to survive.

Redburn tire in Phoenix makes their own caps.

Probably cost effective solution for trailers doing general purpose freight.

Tire shop today had very little they could get in. Must suck to serve customers with very little of the only product you sell.

    Siinman Thanks this.
