I run Deleted and we have always "cored" or sold to rebuilders any DT12 transmission that had ANY noticeable input shaft play. I am second guessing that now. I can't find any literature on how much input shaft paly is allowable or normal on a DT12. Thoughts, documents, links?

I recently replaced mine and as I understood it NO play is the allowable limit.

I can confirm, that the preload on that bearing in the transmission is so tight there is supposed to be 0 play. If you can wiggle the shaft your trans is toast. Rebuild or replace. Info on dtna freightliner.

If you had a Volvo, you could make the shaft dance around. Long as it isn't leaking any fluid, Volvo say's it's a-o-kay.
