Solo's get hub miles too. That's how they run all their trucks.

Wolfy are you sure your friend works for DTL? Their trucks are only out 5-7 days max because all their loads originate from FL. Back hauls are all pre arranged so there is no waiting around for loads. Not sure why your friend isn't getting home.

Yes you can run local. Not real familiar how they work it but I think you get like $150 a day for local. They do shuttle runs to their terminal in Miami from Sanford and they do all the pick ups and deliveries for the over the road drivers mostly around Central Fl. Zellwood, Leesburg, Lakeland, Port Orange etc... They don't do a lot of miles so I think that is why they get paid salary. They usually run 8-10 hour days so that is roughly $15 an hour.

LOL, I didnt say anything about a friend working there....you must be imagining things. I might have a friend of a friend that works in dispatch, I think his name is Doc? Not sure, but he works at a company in Sanford. I havent talked to the friend in a while, so not sure if it is the right company or if he even still works there. I might be interested in running local, if what you are saying is correct. If you could get some more info and PM me with it let me know. I live in the same city as you.

I have worked for them for just over a year and enough is enough. I did a pre-load to Miami just the other day. It was 14 hours and 532 miles and the pay was $150.00. They are constantly holding drivers paychecks for some reason that I was told it is too complicated to explain on the phone. Anyone have any questions about them I'll be more than happy to give the simple truth. The only reason I,ve been here as long as I have was getting home every week.

There trailers are decent. I just quit them over a pay dispute. They figured out how to skip paychecks on drivers. What put me over the edge this time and last I keep running into drivers that did not get paid the week before Christmas. I think there policy is "The beatings will continue until moral improves"

Stay away from DTL. They lie and they do not respect your home time which btw will be an exact 34 hours. If you have more than a day, they will bug you to come in and work. The pay is a joke and don't expect to get a yearly raise. They lied to all tge drivers last year about getting reviews and pay raises and now everyone in the office acts like it was never announced. They play favorites while you get to unload your traile at 5 different stops without stop pay or unloading pay. The equipment is nice but trust me, it's coming out of what you are supposed to be paid.

Question driver(chompi) how does orientation go and where is it held and for how many days? or u paid for that time? if u have a resent physical do u have to take another one for them and does it come out of your pockets? is there hair or piss testing done? do they give u any chance to pick what truck u would rather operate? might be in class this week so this could really help me out with making my choice. Thanks Driver!

:biggrin_25513:If you applied online for this outfit it was thru a Driver Leasing Company you work for them not DTL.Your Tractor stays in their yard during hometime and I was told by the safety director if they need a tractor while your at home they will use yours. There goes all your personal property down the road.I took my road test in a tractor that belonged to another driver.Don't leave any stuff in that tractor or it may not come back and if it does it may smell like cigarettes,me I don't smoke so that would not work.If you break down on the road your truck goes to the shop and they rent you a ryder because the flowers you haul take priority. They try to get you back to the shop for your tractor but if not they get another driver to retrieve it.No Thanks DTL
