Yes, and it has been done. I'm not sure about the exhaust on both sides of the truck but, I know guys have put two turbos on a truck.

actually I know of a guy who is right now building a twin turbo setup like that for a dyno days run. one turbo for each three cyl. but it's top secret I could tell ya but..... well you know
-
oh and that setup is a factory caterpiller setup, just not for a truck originally
-
Some race trucks will have a multi-turbo setup, with big chrome exhaust tips connected directly to each turbo or mabey even just the final two only.
There was a pulling rig outa Pa.a few years ago.It was a red ONE stack Mack cabinover with a dog house in the back and 6 turbos. He swpet the circuit.
Another disadvantage of duel exhaust is the extra weight. Also its twice the labor to remove and reinstall the system. -
Would that be Tom L? I lived about 5 minutes from him. -
Yes that name does ring a bell.I remember seeing he made the cover pages, won the championship, ect
I saw it run a couple years or so in the buckeye. The competition was fierce.Really heavy-hitters,.From the keystone/Butler area. The dude with the K100's (He pulled them to fairgrounds in a brand new blue 369) was super cool when I spoke with him.
The one stack F-Model Mack, with a doghouse on the back, and maybe even Snoopey on top ran multi-turbo,and one guy run a HUGE (like aprox.19" impeller) single setup.Snoopey aso had the fithwheel on backwards which I though was a good saftey precaution.I saw one come loose one time, and there no deadmans cord on the Big-Rigs.
Possible he was running 4,and I have it mixed up with a dude from northen OH. who runs 6.I have a couple photos of.Its a red/black,with goldleaf R-Model. Twin stack Mack with a window in the back. -
Muleskinner <strong>"Shining Beacon of Chickenlights"</strong>
There's actually an article in Diesel Power mag about a guy with SIX turbos on a 903 cummins that he's producing estimates of up to 2000hp and "lifts the front wheels of his class 8 ride a foot off the ground on his way to 100 mph 1/4 mile passes"......I want to haul cows with it....They'd show up at the other end with crash helmets on and permanantly leaning forward with their tounges touching their butts.....Wait a minute,, already been there done that.
-
Good one muleskinner I would love to see a cow with a crash helmet. I always thought 2 stacks were so you would go def in both ears instead of just one.
-
AMEN Brother!
My 387 has 2 stacks and according to CAT and Peter it does help on the MPG something like 1/10 but I have nothing to base it on other than what was said. Either way my Peter looks like an O/O rig rather than a company truck.... and I love my leather interior

where you at cowboy and are you running now?
Met a guy the other day with a truck set up JUST like yours. don't suppose you been lieing and are really leased to Werner?
