well...you go with that........
the laws are what they are....no...??? i had posted what the laws say involving your personal vehicle and a CMV....it was right there in black and white....you got a CDL (or had) and you were bound by those laws.
here it is again, from my posting number 13
this is what separates the idiot 4 wheelers from the professionals..
good luck to you, you have some time now to find other employment where maybe perhaps what you do on your time off, has no bearing on your job........
and if you want your CDL back, (if your state took it away from you). they may require that you go BACK TO SCHOOL....!!! and you ain't got nothing to say about it.....!!
that actually happened to a Mass student of mine.......i don't know what state you are from, but be prepared for more grief.....

Um,I was gonna keep my mouth shut on this ,but, unfortunately,I do have a little experience..You will get grief for a long, long time, after the courts, fines, jail, probation, etc.,My LAST DUI was in 1987,and although I did not have my CDL at that time, and really,I had no intention of ever driving a big truck.Anyway, maybe you will luck out on this part, but in Mn.,my state of residence, dui"s NEVER fall off the mvr...Over and over again,I have to explain those to my future employers, even though ,as I speak now,my CDL mvr is spotless, except for a log violation in Oregon last Sept....I still wake up once in awhile in a state of panic, having dreamed I have lost my license to a dui....Good luck to you man,my advice, take your lumps and move on the best you can.,really, what else can you do?Injun Thanks this.

Not quite true. If you have the DUI record expunged, you will have a clean record as far as DUI and be able to travel to Canada.
-
In what state can you get a DUI conviction expunged. As far as I know, under federal law, DUI convictions stay on your record your entire life.
-
Me too. Oh what a relief it is to realize it was just a bad dream.
-
You need to pay for and apply for a pardon. You pay either way, whether or not it is approved.
-
I was talking to someone at WI DOT, and they said that disqualifiers apply if you have a CDL, even off duty. But proir convictions before getting a CDL do not affect ones eligabilitly to obtain a CDL, but can affect a "S" or "P" endorsement. He said whats important is that you keep your record clean after you get your CDL.

THAT is great advice he gave you...My main point, besides DONT get a DUI,is us poor b######s who live in Mn,it NEVER comes off our mvr. When I apply for a job, what does the prospective employer do?,-It is SOP to check mvr, work history, and 100 other things, for example, when I started 7 yrs ago,one of the companies I wanted to work for was Roehl..When they found out I had 2 dui"s,I was disqualified, even though they were over 20 yrs old.......So it goes....
-
California for one. It will however show up, if you get a second DUI and you will NOT be able to expunge that one. Also it will stay on your record for ten years, with an EXPUNGED remark on your DMV report. You will no longer have a criminal history if you have it expunged.
I cant say about the rest of the states. Some states wont expunge a DUI at all. -
I sure dont want my family to meet a drunk on the road..that dont have enough smarts to not drive. You are as dumb as a rock..if you think driving drunk on off duty time with a cdl ..should not affect your job. i personal hope csa weeds the drunks out before they kill someone
