dui's will show on your MVR for 10 years. most companies in utah want 10 years without a dui.

expungment does NOT require a lawyer. it's a very easy process one can do on their own. there is NO GOING TO COURT.

anytime you get arrested for ANYthing. you get a criminal record. even if it never makes it to court.

i've had 2 dui's. one never went to court. it was dismissed. i've expunged both. on my own. at that time the cost was only $85 after all the paperwork was done. 10 for the background check. 75 for court filing fee and each peace of paper needed for each division involved in the particular case.

i answer NO on applications when it comes to suspension. the only way they'll find out is if they do a lifetime mvr. to which, in utah. they only go back 10 years.

and for those that love to say i have no idea what i'm talking about. i guess you were there with me both times. and remember otherwise.

Honestly I think you shouldn't be allowed to drive anything after the 1st DUI.....( that's my personal opinion). But it is possible for you to get a job driving. Chinatown gave you some great prospects , be a good idea to check them out. It may be harder to get one of the top tier companies to give you a shot , since some of them have a zero tolerance policy on DUI's.....but you can get work.

If that was the case we'd all be driving horse buggies again. Be fine with me. I'd say their is a vast majority of people out there who haven't had a DUI but probably should have, they just didn't get caught. I do believe in harsh penalties. Mine followed me around for a very long time and I paid big time for it. However I'm not the same person I was 20 years ago. So to say you should never,,, People change, I consider myself a hell of lot more responsible then when I was in my younger 20's.

    I had 2 in 1992 and 2 more in 1998 and I found work.

For 2 or more, they have to be 15 years old. Some companies would accept less that 15 years with 5 years clean on your MVR.

You will have to call recruiters to see what they say.

I was told when I was in school that the DUI's will not stop you from getting a CDL, but companies may not hire you. Call around.

In Wisconsin, they passed a law that all DUI's stay on a MVR for life. The DOT wrote into Admin. Code that it stays on an MVR for 55 years.

Wi probably does have that law but i reside in Green Bay and had no trouble finding work
every state is different with expungement
in MD i would need a governors pardon and $5000 to a lawyer
    almost as bad in Mass
in NH just fill out a form and pay a fee

people that are so perfect that think no one should ever work again after a DUI just dont get it
or dont remember what the 70's attitude was
revisionist history applying todays standards to what happened 30-40 years ago are clueless

my parents let me jump around the car lay up in the back window in the 50's
my grandfathers would beat me with a stick they should all be jailed :biggrin_25513:

i regret my past paid my dues and deserve to move on
also have worked as an alcohol and drug counselor
should i tell these people their life is over just dont even bother trying to recover

and if anyone says they never drank in HS EVER never drove drunk
I will call them a liar to their face
some of the biggest phonies never got caught is the only difference

all that said TODAY someone should be banned from driving
    with a DUI now
    different times different standards
