I wouldn't say, they should never work again after a DUI/DWI, but if a pattern is shown? Then maybe they shouldn't be allowed to drive a truck, JMPO

i got a dui in nebraska in 2001 and have since been licenced in mo ia and mt and it still shows up on my mvr but after it got over 5 yrs old companys quit looking at it for the most part although i was told years ago not to bother applying at crete because of theyre dui policy .
and shortly after i went back to work after getting my licence back i got a letter in mail from my carriers insurance co. telling me i was on probation and if i ever got another dui i would never be insurable in a commercial vehicle again .
i do my drinking at home these days . -
yep. i'm a drinker. always will be to the day i die. and i do it at home.
for all you no gooders. you can all kiss my rebel. -

my dui was definatly an attn. getter for me and i learned from it but as far as permanent revocation goes that doesent work for some people either , i have friends and relation in mn ia and nebr whom have been told they will never have a dl again and the morons still drink and drive .

the problem, is, you people throw punishment for life, for those of us who did stupid things as a kid and more then likely no longer do it as an adult.
with age, comes wisdom and maturity. but some of you don't take that into consideration.
if i were to get a dui, to which i did. i'd rather do it while i'm young. and have nothing to lose. not now, where i have everything to lose.
and we're not talking automible homicide either. just flat out being young, dumb, and having fun.Claymoresauce and Cranky Yankee Thank this. -

You not count your life as something possibly to lose as the result of DUI / CRASH ?
G.Anthony Thanks this. -
I would think if no one was able to work with a dui and if everyone got caught every time they drove drunk there would be very few drivers on the road and very few cops writing tickets. I would think if the ones that do have dui's weren't allowed back in a commercial vehicle there would be a huge demand for drivers right now.
